🌟 DOTOG buddy tidies up and collects stars
In 4 steps

How you collect stars

Easy: do a task, tick it off, collect stars, grab a reward. Done.

1

Grab a task

Trash, set the table, tidy your room, whatever's due is in the app. Pick one.

2

Get it done

Done? Tick it off. Boom, the stars land on your account.

3

Stack stars

Every task is worth something. More effort = more stars. Big jobs pay off big.

4

Cash in a reward

Enough stars? Redeem a reward. Cinema, extra time, allowance, whatever your family sets up.

How to share tasks fairly first is covered in our guideshare tasks fairly.

The difference

Real rewards, not boring dots

Lots of apps just give you colourful points that do nothing. In DOTOG your family sets real rewards, and you actually redeem them.

Good to know

Helping out is even in the law

In Germany, children helping in the household is set out in law, age-appropriate and according to their ability.

"A child is obliged to perform services in the parents' household in a manner appropriate to its abilities and position in life."

§ 1619 BGB ·gesetze-im-internet.de

But does a law really make it better?DOTOG shares the tasks at hand fairly and automatically among everyone.

Which tasks fit which age is shown in our guideChores by age.

Safety

Child-safe because we are parents ourselves

We build DOTOG as parents, for families. That is why we deliberately leave out what makes many popular children's apps unacceptable according to Stiftung Warentest: contact with strangers, advertising, purchase pressure and data tracking.

Deliberately left out

  • No chat with strangers.Closed groups, no open chats, no voice chat, no friend requests from outside.
  • No ads to children. No ads, no promotional push, no hidden advertising.
  • No ad tracking. No advertising IDs, no persistent device identifiers, no sharing with ad networks.
  • No purchase pressure. No loot boxes, no dark patterns, children cannot buy anything.

What we do provide

  • Data minimisation. From the child only a nickname, avatar and date of birth, no email, no location, no real name.
  • Data on EU servers.Processed in the European Union, GDPR-compliant.
  • Parents decide.Children's accounts require guardian consent (Art. 8 GDPR).
  • AI with a safety filter. The optional Buddy chat blocks sensitive topics and can be switched off by the admin.

FAQ

Common questions

What age is this for?
From around age 4 up to teenagers. Little ones do simple tasks with pictures, older kids take on bigger jobs. Parents set it all up to fit.
Are these real rewards or just points?
Real ones. Your family sets what you can get for your stars, from extra time to pocket money to a day out. No pointless dots that mean nothing.
Who sets the tasks and rewards?
The parents. They decide which tasks exist, how many stars they give and which rewards can be redeemed. The child sees everything clearly in the app and starts collecting.
Is it safe for children?
Yes. DOTOG is GDPR-compliant, has no ad trackers, and data is stored on EU servers. Parents stay in control, and children's accounts require parental consent.
Do you have to pay for the app?
Getting started is free. Optional subscriptions (Plus, Pro, Ultra) raise limits, such as more members or tasks. Exact prices are in the App Store. No rip-off prices, no ads. Kids cannot buy anything.
Doesn't rewarding just "bribe" kids?
Rewards work best as a kick-start, not as permanent payment for everything. Tip: the obvious things (brushing teeth, trash) stay normal, the extra effort gets rewarded. That way kids learn effort pays off, without putting a price on every little thing.
