This gets you into DOTOG within minutes. The admin builds the group; members join with a code. Tasks and rewards only appear after the group step.

Create an account

Open the app, register with email and pick an avatar. Children under 16 are added by a parent.

Create or join a group

Admin: create a group and share an invite code or QR. Member: join with that code.

First task

The admin creates a task with stars and assigns it to the group members. Whoever does it ticks it off and earns stars.

First reward

The admin sets a real reward. Members redeem it with collected stars; the admin confirms and hands the reward over.

How to use the app, step by step

How do I create a task?
Tasks are created by the admin. Open task management, tap plus, enter a title and stars, and assign the task to a member.
  • Recurring: set repetition to daily or weekly. Then the task reappears automatically.
  • Editing: tasks can't be edited afterwards. Delete and recreate them, so the state stays clear for everyone.
How do I complete a task and earn stars?
The Today page shows your open tasks for the day. Tap the tick on a task. Then it counts as done and the stars land in your account. One tap is enough; a brief loading moment is normal.
How do rewards work?
The admin creates rewards with a star price. Members redeem a reward once they have enough stars. The request goes to the admin, who approves it; then the stars are deducted.
What are stars, streaks and the podium?
You earn stars for completed tasks; they are the currency for rewards. A streak counts how many days in a row you keep going. The podium shows your group ranking; you see your own place.
How do I use the calendar and appointments?
In the calendar you see group appointments and your completed tasks. Appointments can send a reminder as a push notification in advance, so nothing slips through.
What is BuddyChat and who controls it?
Buddy is a friendly AI helper, mainly for children. It has a safety filter and is optional. The admin can enable or disable BuddyChat per child.
How do I turn on notifications?
Allow notifications for DOTOG on first launch or in your device settings. Then you get push for new tasks, rewards and appointment reminders, even when the app is closed.
How do I switch language?
In settings you choose the app language. DOTOG is available in German, English, Spanish, French, Italian and Ukrainian.
How do I set up a child account?
A parent or admin invites the child. For children under 16, parental consent is required (Art. 8 GDPR). For the child, we store only a nickname, avatar and date of birth, plus what is created through use of the app: group membership, tasks, stars, streak, redeemed rewards and BuddyChat data; no email address, location or real name. More on the child safety page and in the privacy policy.
How do I export my data or delete my account?
In settings you can export your data and delete your account. Deletion removes your personal data. Details, including how to do it via the website, are on the Delete account page.
What does DOTOG cost and what do the subscriptions add?
All plans are group subscriptions: the price covers the whole group, not each person. Getting started is free. DOTOG Plus costs 3.59 € a month or 34.99 € a year for a group of up to five members and suits families. DOTOG Pro costs 4.99 € a month for up to ten members and is meant for shared households. DOTOG Ultra costs 19.99 € a month for up to one hundred members, which is about twenty cents per person, and fits clubs, school classes and project teams. Tasks and calendar are included in every tier; the difference is group size. Every subscription can be cancelled at any time, and a purchase can be restored on a new device. There is also the VIP pack for a one-time 3.99 €, which unlocks all avatars and BonusBuddys without a subscription. Children cannot buy anything. Prices for Germany, as of 29 July 2026; in other countries and depending on the store, the price shown there applies.

 As of the current app version. Deliberately not included: a task cannot be edited afterwards, only created or deleted. A member's role or stars also cannot be changed by hand in the app; stars come only from completed tasks and redeemed rewards.

I can't see any tasks. Why?
Usually the group step is missing. Tasks and rewards only appear once you have created a group (admin) or joined one (member, with a code or QR from the admin).
How do I join a group?
You need the invite code or QR from your admin. Enter it when joining. After that you see the group's tasks and rewards.
Push notifications aren't arriving.
Check that notifications for DOTOG are allowed in your device settings and that battery saver is not blocking the app. Push works both when the app is open and when it is closed.
I forgot my account password.
Use the reset password function at login or on the management page. You receive an email. If no mail arrives, check your spam folder or write to us below.
How do I report a bug or suggest something?
Via the feedback form on this page: choose bug, suggestion or question, write briefly and send. Your message reaches us directly.
Is DOTOG safe for children?
Yes. Closed groups without contact to strangers, no ads and no tracking for children. Data is processed on servers in the European Union; where individual service providers process data in the USA, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses apply. Child accounts require parental consent.
